Nothing, really

posted Wednesday, 19 December 2007

I got off work early today.  Ordinarily, this would not make me sad, but I had absolutely nothing to do.  My meager holiday shopping is done.  My greeting cards are mailed.  Howdy is working late and Daughter the Younger is at Aunt and Uncle Day Camp.  I went to the Goodwill store in search of some work pants, but there was nothing in my size.  (An aside...who thought that giant legs on pants was a good idea?  I certainly don't want to wear circus pants.  Maybe that's why I keep running into them at the thrift store.)

So, I came home and cleaned the pool and started some laundry and decided to tackle this blog upgrade thing.  Blog-City has been sending me emails saying that I have to upgrade or my blog will vanish.  I sincerely thought about just vanishing, since I am not feeling the blog love here lately.  However, I might just start up writing sock patterns again some day and I'd hate for someone to pilfer my nom de plume (nom de chausette?)

There you have it.  Nothing, really.  Aren't you glad you came?  My gosh, I'm feeling snarky tonight.

Hey, no worries. This is what automated blog readers are for: I'm pleased when you post, and I don't notice when you don't (but I mean that in the nicest way possible!). No need to stress out over us lurkers--we'll be here whenever. Your real life matters a lot more. So have a great holiday, spend time with your family. I'm sure it'll all get better. :)

I'm always glad when I see you've posted. :) I'd also love it if you made up some more gorgeous sock patterns!

Do please stay around, I've been eye-ing your sock patterns for a while and would hate to see them disappear!

I've got a Lacy Scallops pair partially complete - just need to finish the foot on the second sock but it was interrupted by some Christmas projects - knitting, sewing, and baking - but I hope to finish it soon.

It's been the perfect pattern for a Claudia Hand Painted sock yarn in Purple Haze which has been stashed for a while, and I suspect I will use it again for other yarns...so thanks very much!!

(and I hope you stay around!)

Maybe you should move your nom de chausette (love that) to another free blog hosting service?? I've gotten the nag-messages too, even though I did upgrade a while ago. I always forget to renew though...my blog was down for a month while I was on vacation this year. Oops.

I have an idea -- can you write some patterns and sell them to cover the cost of the blog upgrade? I am another one who hopes you will start writing patterns again, so it's purely a selfish motive on my part. ;-)

Hope y'all have a Merry Christmas!

I'm totally with you. Must be one of those days. Home from an exam, can't leave town yet because still have a paper to write and friends have already left so no one to go to dinner with. No energy to do much needed cleaning. Must be in the air!!

I would really miss you around. You are a gifted blog writer (even or especially if you are snarky ;-) ) and I really love your sock patterns! So please hang in there!

I always enjoy your posts. Infrequent thought they are, it's fun to come ad see how you are doing when Bloglines tells me you've posted. Although in explorer, your blog is coming up in a 2 inch strip down the extreme right hand side....

I do understand the loss of interest posting. I go on my dry spells, too. I love reading your blog and am glad you haven't deleted it. Some of your patterns are on my 2-do list for next year. Thank you for sharing them and thank you for a great blog!

I always check your blog, but I understand a lack of desire to post. I took mine down last year, too.

I always check your blog. It was the first blog I ever read, and I always look forward to hearing from you. I hope 2008 is a better year for you and your family. I will keep you in my prayers. Rhonda, Tokyo, Japan--though I am home here with DH and DD, it is another Christmas away from my parents...8,000 miles. What was I thinking?...love is definately blind!
