An exchange takes place...

Looky what I scored the other day...

I had Howdy take me over the the LYS where he scored the alpaca for me for Christmas and I exchanged it for this!  This is a skein of Lucy Neatby's Celestial Merino in Fiery Fuschia.  The last one there, as a matter of fact...  The problem lies in the fact that Howdy was standing there when the "business" portion of the exchange was taking place and noticed that it cost me an additional $7 on top of the credit for the alpaca to get this baby.  Oops.  Remember the other socks I knit from this stuff?  This is the same colorway, but it looks completely different!

In other knitting news, Howdy's Valentine/Lightning Bolt socks are only a couple of rows from the heel.  I am thinking about an afterthough heel to preserve the striping.  I've done that heel once before and while it's cute, it's a pain to pick up all of those stitches to knit it up.  I hope changing to stockinette for the bottom of the foot doesn't mess it up, too.  More news as it happens...
