...start more socks!!
Since I am still waiting for inspiration on the heel for the cool turquiose socks, I decided that since I had so many lonely needles, it was time to start more socks. I cast on some LL sock weight in Wisteria (one of my very favorite colorways!!) and decided to do the "Cabled Sweat Socks" from the Interweave Press's Spin-off Socks book. The pattern requires a little more concentration that I usually have, so I think it will be slow going. I need to find my cable needle, too, using one of the other ends of the circulars isn't cutting it with this one, since there are front and back cables in this sock.
I am still plugging away on the Regia Multi-Effeckt for Howdy for April. The pattern is kind of random and I don't really like it all that much. I am glad I didn't buy more of that yarn. My kid had a soccer game this morning, but it was too cold and windy to knit, bummer.
Yesterday, I made a some ENORMOUS FINDS at the library book sale. First, a copy of a spiral bound Norwegian Knitting Designs. I suspect this is a photocopy of the real book, but I don't care, the charts are excellent and there are even quite a few for socks, including this very cool dancing Granny chart!!!

The second thing I found was a copy of Slip-Stitch Knitting, this was particularly ironic, since I had only moments before this returned the library's copy of this same book! Last was one of Mon Tricot's Knitting & Crochet Dictionaries!! This is an item I have been haunting Ebay for, so I was ecstatic to find one! I also picked up one tole painting book and a book on tape of The Dolls' Christmas. Total outlay for this shopping adventure?? $3.75!!!
I also went to the LYS in Plano yesterday. I got another pair of size 2 Addis, and three skeins of Jaeger Extra-Fine Merino DK in this really cool tweedy grey (color 978 in this photo). I think I might surprise Howdy with a extra pair of socks for his 50th birthday, also in April. I am thinking just a plain pair of ribbed socks with it, since I think they will look like gray ragg wool.
