Okay, did anyone miss me?  Was anyone wondering how many socks got knitted??  The answers to this and other questions....

We had a great trip!  New Mexico is really a neat place, we ran short of time and had to skip things that I would've liked to see, but we did hit the major spots.  Weather was changeable, we drove in and out of rain many times, but it wasn't too cold.  Wind was a bigger problem.

Now, on to the socks!  I finished the Meilenweit Red, White and Blues.  I used the afterthought heel for the first time and it looks and feels good, but it's awfully fiddly to pick up all of those stitches.  Not sure if I'll be using it again.

I also finished the mate to the Oh So Beautiful sock in LL Child's Play.  This is a nice sock and a nice pattern, but I wish I'd picked a yarn that didn't have so many colors to it, so the slipped stitches showed up better.  I find myself feeling that way about a lot of the LL yarns.

I cast on for the pair of Regia's for Howdy's April sock, but I've only got about an inch of ribbing done.  I didn't even cast on for the other sock.  I did manage to find one yarn store, in Santa Fe.  I bought a skein of Regia Short and Nancy Bush's Folk Knitting in Estonia while I was there.  They did have some Jaeger Extra-Fine Merino DK that I was thinking about for this pattern, but it seemed a little pricey and you need three balls.

On my to do list this week is watch the video I bought for my sock-knitting machine!!!
