A new plan

I have this nifty Koigu.  (Actually, I have a lot of nifty Koigu, but this is what I pulled out).  I planned on doing a mosaic-type pattern, and actually went to the trouble to actually graph my own out and all, but when I started knitting, there was just too much turquoise in the variegated and the pattern was completely lost...

So, I ripped out the 10+ rows that I had already knit.  Bummer.  Pulled out my trusty copy of BW1 and started leafing through.  Came across wickedly simple instructions for vertical stripes and decided it was worth a try.  Look, you can actually see the other yarn now!!

The scanner took a lot of the color out of the turquoise yarn, it really is electric.  I think I will make a shorter cuff on this one, but I still have no ideas about the foot.  The slipped stitches make this sock quite a bit thicker than I think I'd like to wear in shoes, so I might have to come up with an alternate plan.  My first thought was horizontal stripes, but I suspect that would be a lot more busy than I'd like.

It has been a gorgeous spring day here in TX.  All the azaleas and tulips and redbud trees are in bloom.  I have had the windows open all day.  Of course, this all sounds great, but it was almost too warm to be wearing wool socks today.  A sad thought indeed.
