Third Time's the Charm.

This is the third time I've tried to post this entry. Not a smurfy start to a new blogging year...

I've been MIA for almost 12 months, I know, but I've only knitted two lowly pairs of socks, so I saved you from a lot of boring blogging, OK??

Without further ado...here they are!!

This was sock #9 in the "10 pair for our 10th anniversary" gift for Howdy.  It's Mountain Colors, but I can't remember the color.  The pattern was inspired from a photo at the now defunct www.summerwings.com site.

Here's the last sock of the year, squeaking in 12/31 and finishing my commitment to Howdy on our anniversary.  It's Mountain Colors in Golden Willow.  My own pattern based on Schiaparelli Slipper sorta.  This was sooo sad, I hadn't knitted in so long, I had to look up how to turn a heel again.  Bad news.

On the agenda for 2005...
1.  LL sport in China Blue on the needles, working down the gussets.  I was going to make this "Wavy Socks" (think Knitty), but I didn't like the way it was looking, so I frogged and made it Parting Ways Socks instead.
2.  I found three skeins of Kureyon in my stash.  I think it was supposed to be for a felted bag ages ago, but I think I'll make another pair of socks with it.
3.  I want to make this scarf.  I found three skeins of Silk Garden in the same stash hiding place as the Kureyon and I saw the scarf knitted in Silk Garden on this blog.  Scarves in Texas are really superfluous, but I can't resist.  I've been resisting Clapotis, too, especially in this luscious cashmere yarn...

I've been reading a lot lately, too.  Just finished The Birth of Venus  (5 socks) and Snowfall (3 socks).  Working on Peyton Place with a reading group.  Just checked out Krakatoa and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
