Showing the Sock a Good Time - Devil's Den State Park, Arkansas

posted Tuesday, 18 October 2005
Whew!  What a weekend the sock had at Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas!  This is one of our very favorite parks!  Here's a few highlights!
The sock went Geocaching for the first time!  (It's kind of like a treasure hunt you do with a GPS and coordinates to the cache.)  This was the second cache the sock was there to find.
This was the third cache.  The sock chose a Fat Bastard bobblehead!  (Some caches have goodies in them that you trade for.  FB travelled from another cache in Missouri to get to the cache in Arkansas.  We haven't decided if he's going to be our mascot or if he's going to go to a cache here in Texas for further travels.)
The sock hiked the Yellow Rock Trail at the park.  Here's Howdy showing the sock the view off the cliff.  (Isn't he a funny guy?)  I was about a quarter of a mile down the trail when I took this photo.
Here's the sock admiring the view from the top of the cliff into the Lee Creek valley.
The sock also went on a guided crevice hike with a park interpreter.  The sock was glad that it wasn't the one who had to climb out of this 55 foot crevice!

The sock had a great time, and so did we!  I finished these socks at the campsite the last morning.   Here's the world's worst official photo of them...

Stats: Pair #65  Lucy Neatby Celestial Merino in Fiery Fuschia.  64 Stitches on Addi Turbo 1s.  Started 9-23-05  Completed 10-17-05

I also finished the Alpaca Scarf of Doom in the car on the way home and I cast on for a brand new pair of socks, too!  More photos tomorrow!  I have tons of laundry, unpacking, cleaning and grocery chores to do today, not to mention a pile of email and blogs to catch up on!
