I did manage to get a good shot with the socks in front of Cabela's...
Now, I had just spent the two hours before this walking around Cabela's, knitting these socks, so I was already used to the weird looks I was getting. There are hundreds of taxidermied critters inside this store, but I just wasn't up to having the kiddos see me get hauled off to the funny farm to grab a shot with a polar bear holding my socks. You'll have to settle for this*, LOL!
Now I am sure my (few) regular readers are wondering..."what sock is that??" Well, I decided I couldn't possibly walk around Cabela's and knit a complicated sock, so I cast on with one of my new stash skeins from yesterday, this is Regia Strato 5474, chosen by Howdy himself! I am happy to report that as of this reading, I am done with the ribbing and am on to the endless 80-stitches-around-forever leg...more news as it happens!
*I feel obligated to report that upon entering this store, I uttered, "Why would he be roping a deer? Any regular cowboy would just pull out his shotgun and shoot it." Draw your own conclusions.
Aww, I would have liked to see the polar bear holding the sock! But I
agree with you on the cowboy / deer thing. Maybe he's a nearsighted
cowpoke and thinks it's a bull?
Oh I love Cabellas. We don't have one near us, so it's simply catalog.
But it's a fun time so I'm sure the sock was pleased.
I think a "skinny" scarf knit in a random pattern with some of your
leftovers would be cute...I've seen one done in the self striping yarns and
it looked just like a long sock without the foot....just a thought!
