Well Thank God He's Not Gay!

posted Tuesday, 28 August 2007

Warning!  Strong and political opinions here.  No knitting content.  You have been warned.

I am sure I'm not the only one who's heard about Idaho senator Larry Craig and his loud protests that he's not gay.  Well, all I have to say is THANK GOD!  I'd be horrified if I was gay and I had to claim that he had anything remotely in common with me.  Oh, sure Larry, I'm sure it's awful in your eyes to be considered gay, but it's perfectly OK to solicit "lewd conduct" in an airport restroom miles from home and then plead guilty to it "hoping it will go away."  What kind of idiots do you take us for?  How dare you besmirch the good name of honest, hardworking, law-abiding people out there, whether they be gay, Republican, senators or even humans?  And I love the senate-card throwing bit, too...let me know how that works out for you in the coming weeks.

What a creep.  And what an idiot.  Did he really think that was going to go away?

People.  Get out there and vote.  For all your elections, not just the big ones.  Pester your representatives when there's an issue you care about, no matter what size.  Otherwise, no bitching.

I'm queer and I hope he never identifies as gay because I'd hate to think that I'd be even remotely associated with someone like him.

I swear the ones who scream the loudest that LGBT people are horrible/going to hell/evil are the ones who are so deep in the closet they're finding Christmas presents. I really think they not only hate themselves but also hate those of us who are both queer and happy with ourselves.

Sheesh. With you all the way. Methinks he doth protest too much. Yucko. There's a great video where some news guys re-enact what he's supposed to have done and if it's to be believed, there is no mistaking his intent.

Yeah, I sure don't want him on the team. Nor Haggard, nor Foley, nor ... well, you get the idea.

Ugh. I can't even come up with anything coherent to say, but suffice it to say that that guy pisses me off hugely.

Another case of people in high places who don't think the rules apply to them. Special people.

However I personally don't care how gay or not gay he is. And as a Senator he shouldn't be caring who the hell his constituents sleep with as long as they are consenting adults.

i could care less about the gay comment. What bothers me - why is he now claiming that he "made a mistake, didn't understand, should have had a lawyer" before making the guilty plea? If he is that stupid to think we would buy into that excuse, he doesn't belong in the Senate!

And to top it all off, he was the guy being all "holier than thou" about Clinton's lack of morals. That idiot hasn't a clue on so many levels.

Ditto Judy. I hope people finally wake up and realize that sometimes those who scream the loudest have the most to hide.

By the way, love your River River Rapids pattern. Hope you're designing again soon.
